Our Vertical sliding sash windows provide modern UPVC windows with traditional appeal.

Colour Options

In the past, the range of colour available for UPVC windows was quite limited. Nowadays, however we can provide a wide variety of colour options to match the individual needs of any installation.

The colour is achieved by adding a laminate to the face of the window profile. Therefore only the external or both the external and internal faces can be coloured. Unfortunately the recesses in the window (ie the part that you see when you open a window) cannot be coloured.

Energy Efficiency

BS7950 Enhanced Security BSI Test

Today's PVC-U windows are rated for the energy efficiency. Two measures that are often quoted are Energy Ratings and U value.

The energy rating is similiar to the energy rating found on your washing machine or dishwasher. It measures the difference between the total heat loss through the window versus the total heat gain. Heat gain is achived through solar affects, so by using glass that lets more solar energy through can improve the rating of the window.

The U value of the window only measures heat loss. By using sepcailly coated glass, multi chamber profiles reinforced with composite materials as opposed to steel, the overall heat loss can be reduced.

Our windows can be designed to achieve different energy performance requirements. At a minium (because building regulation stipulate), our windows achive a C rating and an overall U value of 1.6. However our windows can easily be specified to achieve an A rating, or by using triple glazing we can achive an overall heat loss U value of 0.8.

Security

Safety and security is always a significant factor when choosing replacement UPVC windows and doors. The Aluplast IDEAL70 range of windows and doors has been approved by the Secured by Design Scheme, which is the scheme recommended by the Association of Chief Police Officers for their Secured by Design “Police Preferred Specification” licenses.

In order to achieve this standard all windows are fitted with secure multipoint locking, anti jam hinge protectors as well undergoing rigourous testing at an appropriate test centre.
