Double Glazing » British Standards
GRP Designs have always manufactured with security and quality in mind, however we are now proud to announce that we are
Kettering’s only manufacturer of UPVC windows to BS7950 and BS7412. These two standards are specified by the Association of Chief Police Officers for their Secured by Design “Police Preferred Specification” licenses.
In order to obtain these kitemarks our windows undergo regular testing at a BSI test centre, with only the most secure and robust windows obtaining BS7950.

BS7412: Plastic windows made from unplasticized PVC-U extruded hollow
profiles specification
This standard specifies requirements for the materials, including glass and
glazing, construction, security, weathertightness, and operation and strength
performance of new windows made from PVC-U conforming to BS7413.
BS7950: Specification for enhanced security performance of casement and
tilt/turn windows for domestic applications
The concept of ‘enhanced security’ is based upon resistance to forced entry by
human intervention techniques (as used by an opportunist intruder), and
resistance to entry under mechanical loading. All windows undergo a number of
manual and mechanical tests at the BSI test centre, with only the most secure
and robust windows obtaining BS7950. |
