Enhanced security lock, with the convenience of a slim line handle

Our slimline bifold door handle and lock is a mortise deadlock. (Mortise lock means: A lock which is encased in the body of the door profile rather than fixed to the surface of the door). The shoot bolts locate into the tracks top and bottom with a third central point used on a swing/pass door. The slimline lock can also be described as multipoint lock. For typical household insurance this meets all minimum security requirements.

The added benefit with the slimline lock and handle is the cylinder need not protrude from the profile beyond the recommended 4mm. Hence the all too common burglar preferred method of breaking cylinders to enter properties is made extremely difficult. In addition the slimline handle spindle has a snap point which when anyone tries to force the handle (beyond reasonable force) the spindle will snap. This means the handle will simply spin round. All is quickly and cost effectively remedied by undoing two screws and extracting the remaining spindle and refitting a new handle. The lock will remain unaffected.

Traditional lever / lever handle provides latching facility similar to that of a standard front or back door.

A lever / lever handle should be used on main entrance doors, or doors that have high a volume of traffic/people opening and closing the door on regular basis, such as doors that will be operated by the general public in bars, restaurants, showrooms etc

Note that a lever / lever handle does not enable the doors to fold back flat upon themselves. A magnetic door stop (on aluminium) or a pvc catch (on pvc) is used to hold the doors back in the open position and protect the handle from hitting the doors.
